The extruder cog which feeds the filament through to the bowden tube had loose allen bolts and it had slipped down and was not touching the filament. Ok, i'm hoping for a possible solution to a problem i'm having. Unscrew the brass hex piece, push the filament through, then slide the brass hex piece over the filament, tighten the hex, then continue to push the filament towards the extruder. The brass cog you can see above is the culprit! I bought an ender 3 a couple of months ago and have now set it up. After getting the filament to enter the first opening it seemed to get hung up at the fitting. Unscrew the brass hex piece, push the filament through, then slide the brass hex piece over the filament, tighten the hex, then continue to push the filament towards the extruder.
